As you know Cameo Girl TV is a huge fan of the paranormal with our newly launched webseries titled
TWILIGHT PASSAGES found at www.twilightpassages.com. We are always finding new ways to relate to other seekers and learn about the unknown of the spirits beyond the veil.
Recently we were contacted by a wonderful gentleman from Encino, California. He name is Todd Moster Esq, he is a part-time documentary producer and a full-time legal recruiter and career consultant. He has produced a mini-documentary about the Electronic Voice Phenomena, called “Breaking the Barrier,” back in 2008 and is currently working on raising the funds for a combined high-tech investigation of EVP and TV/Internet docu-series on the Kickstarter.com crowd-funding platform. It is with regard to this current project, called “The Afterlife Files”and has launched earlier on January 28th 2015. He is very determined to undergo the most extensive studies of the wonderful world of 'EVP'S' which I myself have gotten amazing recordings of myself!
So we sat down with Mr. Moster and asked him how these studies will help us get closer to the unknown:
CGTV: What gravitates you to the paranormal?
I think it’s often difficult to explain what makes a person is interested in certain things. It seems to me that human beings are born with defined interest in certain subjects, which explains the breathtaking and wonderful diversity we see in a world populated by farmers, physicists, marketing executives and stand-up comedians. With that said, I’ve been fascinated with the paranormal as long as I can remember. It probably dates back to when I first learned and really understood what death was (around the time of the JFK assassination to the best of my recollection, when I was five years old), and how it would eventually take away my own life and the people I loved, seemingly forever. To put it mildly, I was not thrilled with that realization. As Woody Allen said, it’s not that I’m afraid of death. I just don’t want to be there when it happens. A deep-set and intense curiosity about our mortality accordingly colored my world view and made me very interested in stories, and later books and documentaries, about ghosts and other paranormal subjects.
Then, in the late ‘70s, when I was in high school, I read the book Breakthrough, written by Konstantin Raudive about his extensive EVP experiments, and I was hooked. His book inspired me to run a parapsychology study group through the Psychology Department when I attended the University of Florida. After graduation from college and law school, I largely put aside my interest in the paranormal to devote myself to my career as a trial attorney and, later, executive recruiter in the legal profession. In the early 2000’s however, I decided to do an Internet search on what, if anything, had become of EVP research. When I did so, I was astounded at the progress that was reported in the field. That research renewed my interest in the field and motivated me to produce a mini-documentary about EVP and ITC in 2008 called “Breaking the Barrier.” Needless to say, that interest has grown into a passion which inspired this very novel crowdfunding venture we’ve put together called The Afterlife Files.
CGTV: Have you had any prior experiences yourself with the paranormal and if yes what so?
As part of my research and reporting in the paranormal area, I’ve of course attended séances and EVP/ITC recording sessions. In some instances, I’ve listened to what appear to be voices recorded on recording devices, including my own equipment, that I did not hear at the time the recording was being made. Although I would have to honestly describe myself as a science-based skeptic, such personal observations, combined with my survey of the research literature and interviews with people involved with EVP and ITC experimentation, have led me to believe that something real may be happening that deserves concerted, well-funded and completely-controlled scientific investigation. Other than these observations and conclusions, however, I can’t say that I have personally had any personal visions or realizations that I would describe as paranormal.
CGTV: What do you think will hopefully be achieved with this campaign/project and how will it effect your life and others?
Researchers and paranormal investigators have been coming forward with seemingly amazing examples of paranormal voices and images since the 1950s. Yet despite occasional news reports or documentaries about that work, such research has yet to enter into general public knowledge and awareness. The reason, in my opinion, for this lack of awareness, and even a certain plateau in research progress, is that up to now nearly all the research, however brilliant and well-documented, has been carried out by paranormal investigators, parapsychologists and others who devote themselves to metaphysical research. So you have a large number of investigators, along with the occasional reporter or documentarian who becomes interested in the subject, who work in the area talking to each other in a sort of echo chamber.
What The Afterlife Files seeks to accomplish is to raise the funds to hire mainstream electronic engineers and other scientists of unquestioned integrity who have never been involved in the study of paranormal phenomena and may, in fact, believe it to be a bunch of hooey. I’ve found from personal experience such scientists tend to head for the hills when asked to participate in conducting experiments such as those at the heart of The Afterlife Files – a troublesome problem which is actually documented in a scene in our video trailer for The Afterlife Files. My expectation, however, is that if we can afford to pay such experts a consulting fee that fairly compensates them for their valuable time, and assure them of they will play a meaningful role in a study of unquestioned integrity, we will be able to bring them aboard.
The plan of The Afterlife Files is to then have these experts operate as part of a design and operations team in conjunction with experienced paranormal investigators, perhaps some speech and image forensic specialists, and even some families that are seeking to communicate with a lost loved one. Such a collaboration among such diverse individuals is bound to produce sparks that will make for interesting television – and documenting the investigative process for a 13-episode television show, after all, is a big part of what The Afterlife Files is about. As the same time, however, it is bound to result in the most innovative, intensive and tightly controlled investigation of EVP and ITC ever undertaken.
It’s of course possible that the result of all of these elaborate experiments will be absolutely nothing. That’s the essence of a fair experimental process. You don’t know what, if anything, you’ll find…But if, with all of these mainstream scientists, elaborate controls and sophisticated equipment (such as Faraday cages, etc.) in place, we still get Class A voices or images that can’t be explained away through conventional theories, well, then you’ve got a truly paradigm-shifting event that, in my opinion, would sweep the world and wipe every other top news story off the map.
I would expect such an occurrence to have a transformational and positive effect on the world. To cite one example, since I tend to take a political view of things, we all know that one of the most potent weapons that vicious dictators, terrorists and criminals of all kinds have wielded over the centuries is the widespread and natural human fear of death. It’s how they have manipulated and controlled whole populations. If life after death were a proven scientific fact – as readily accepted as gravity and electrical energy – I think we’ll see some changes. Such tyrants and criminals will have a much more difficult time staying in power when the people they seek to exploit have lost their fear of death.
Well this interview had me in awe and I am totally in support of Mr. Moster!! If you are interested in joining his kickstarter campaign, offering all types of donations go to his link at:
