Cameo Girl TV is a huge fan of ComicCon, Anime and Cosplayers everywhere!!
Join us as we get to know about the life of the ever so popular world of Cosplayers. Cosplayer Nation, a documentary by Founder Joshua Adams, depicts the life and interests of Cosplayers around the states, in his amazing documentary.
Cosplayer Nation has been filming since 2010 all across the United States. We’ve filmed at conventions like Katsucon, Boston Comic Con, Another Anime Con, San Diego Comic Con, New York Comic Con, and Connecticut Con. Although it’s still a work in progress, we’ve shown parts of our documentaries at various conventions. Our showing at Florida Super Con’s film fest received rave reviews. They had this to say: “[this] extraordinary cosplay documentary, that cosplayers have been raving about, shows the true lives of cosplayers as well as the history on all things cosplay”
Cameo Girl TV sat down with Joshua Adams and asked him questions about his remarkable life in his " Cosplayer Nation"
What made you want to create “Cosplay Nation”?
I always thought cosplay would be a fascinating subject to do a Documentary on. When my mother died in April of 2010, I wanted to do something in her memory. She always was an outgoing person and always kept an open mind. She never gave up on my sister and me. I wanted do to something to showed that, much like my mother, cosplayers never give up their passion.
2. Were you interested in cosplay as a young child?
Yes. When Halloween came around, my father would make costumes for me. They were simple but elaborate. The last one he made was a slot machine. You could put the candy where you would normally put the coin in. There was a tray inside the costume that held all the candy. It did all that but the costume was made out of cardboard boxes and a flashlight!
3. Will there be a part two of the documentary?
Yes. We are collecting more footage. We really want to do film outside the US to show that cosplay is worldwide phenomenon.
4. What kind of people have you met during your cosplay viewing?
We met all kinds of people: Teachers, bloggers, people that work in the media like yourself, and also Cosplayers that want to know more about the culture.
5. Where do you see “Cosplay Nation” in 3 years?
Well I see us getting more in-depth into worldwide cosplay community as well as creating a geek social network where cosplayers and non-cosplayers can educate each other and make connections.
